SUMMARY:La possibilité d'une ile - Mickael Doucet
DESCRIPTION:  \n \n  \n  \n \n  \n \n  \n \n  \n \n  \n \n  \nMickael Doucet \nLa possibilité d’une ile \nSolo show \n27th August – 27th September 2020 \n  \nPRESS RELEASE (for italian version please click here Comunicato stampa Mickael Doucet) \n  \nLa possibilitè d’une ile is the title of the personal exhibition of the French artist Mickael Doucet (1974) which CRAG Gallery is pleased to host from 27th August to 27th September in via Giolitti 51\, Turin. \nThe works on display talk about an island. \nA treasure island or perhaps a lost and mysterious paradise\, for the artist a true reassuring and contemporary refuge that he identifies as a virgin place\, far from the tumult of the world. It is a place that can be both our origin and our relevance. \nThe representations are born from the artist’s desire to return to a stage of intimacy and solitude\, as a rebirth and detachment from an excessively intrusive civilisation. This journey\, full of colours and characterised by architectures and seas\, it is powered by the love for literature from which Doucet takes a cue\, also for the choice of the subjects represented. From Zeus\, to Ulysses to Thomas Moore. An Island as utopia\, as asylum. \nThis “utopian elsewhere”\, as defined by Doucet\, is offered to our eyes\, but if we look carefully it is less inaccessible than what it seems. In fact\, sometimes it is simply our home\, where we have retired far from conflict\, to think and meditate\, with the help of art and culture. \nCurator Marion Guggenheim describes Doucet’s work as “something luxurious. But the luxury of being alone in free spaces\, something rare in our urban reality.” \n  \nFor see the artworks please click here https://cragallery.com/artists/mickael-doucet/ \n  \nFor info \ninfo@cragallery.com \n+39 3351227609 \nCHIONO REISOVA ART GALLERY – CRAG \nvia Giolitti\, 51 – 10123 Torino \nwww.cragallery.com

SUMMARY:Jiri Hauschka - The owls are not what they seem - Turin
DESCRIPTION:Jiří Hauschka \nThe owls are not what they seem \nI gufi non sono quello che sembrano \nMostra personale \n  \n 11 febbraio – 18 marzo 2020 \nInaugurazione martedì 11 febbraio dalle 17 alle 21 \nsarà presente l’artista \n  \nCOMUNICATO STAMPA (for Engl.

SUMMARY:Jiri Hauschka - The owls are not what they seem - Prague
DESCRIPTION:  \n  \nJiří Hauschka – The owls are not what they seem \nPaintings by Jiří Hauschka (born 1965 in Šumperk) take us to an environment of confrontation\, or rather symbiosis\, of man and nature. Nature influences us more than we admit. Some painters have sensed it for a long time – especially in places where there’s a bit more of it\, like in the northern regions with plenty of forests and lakes\, or in the south with jungles and waterfalls. In those surroundings\, events involving man may be more raw\, more to the bone. The name of the exhibition is a reference to David Lynch’s legendary TV series that was set in such an environment. After that\, nothing was as it had been. This is one of the ways to look at Hauschka’s paintings. And accompany him to the painters’ wilderness. \nIn recent years\, or rather in the last two decades\, we witness the art of painting looking back at its history\, examining its options\, seeking what is still attractive and alive in past layers\, and finally realizing\, to its surprise\, that it can still invigorate today’s audience through its colours\, views\, compositions and ideas\, and be attractive for contemporary artists. And it realizes that figures set in a certain spatial or scenic configuration possess a visual and semantic potency that upsets and attracts a contemporary person just as it did in the decades and centuries before us. Fragments of past visuals are pieced together with the fragments of tomorrow’s imagination. \nJiří Hauschka turns to this type of painting method that utilizes colours and symbolic connotations\, prevalent at the turn of the 20th century – he positions himself in that period next to the Canadian painter Tom Thomson (1877–1917) – and used by contemporary painters such as Daniel Richter or Peter Doig. Reality is transformed by the painter’s narration into layered storytelling\, where the artist’s memory is interspersed with new experiences\, views\, desires and emotional turbulences. In the case of Jiří Hauschka\, we find ourselves in the wilderness of painter nostalgia\, where we look for the conceptual person\, and in urban civilization\, which has barely any options left and where we can therefore feel and see the colours of wilderness. Ultimately\, we can be justified in our impression that nothing is as it seems at the first and second glance – just like in the world of Lynch’s Twin Peaks\, where a corpse unexpectedly appears in a quiet town set in the middle of nature\, where the trees keep rustling and the waterfalls keep flowing. Colours save us from reality.

SUMMARY:Della divina proporzione - Diego Zangirolami
DESCRIPTION:Diego Zangirolami \nDella Divina Proporzione \nSolo show \n  \nFrom 26 September to 19 October 2019 \nOpening 26-27-28 September from 3 to 9 pm \nThe artist will be present \n  \nPRESS RELEASE\n( click here to download the Italian version Diego Zangirolami c.s. della divina proporzione) \nThree days of opening for the exhibition of the miniaturist artist Diego Zangirolami entitled Della Divina Proporzione\, on display at Crag Gallery from 26 September to 19 October. \nDella divina proporzione is inspired\, for its title\, by the well-know treatise of the mathematician and humanist Fra Luca Bartolomeo de Pacioli\, influenced by the Euclid and Platonic writings. It is a path of discovery within the relationship between Human being and Nature through the vision of the divine. Following different channels of influence\, such as male\, female\, animal\, crystalline\, molecular\, shamanic\, scientific\, the artist-explorer discovers and reconstructs new symbols and bonds. Zangirolami imagines acts and rituals\, invents new visions of the divine\, reflects on his role by retracing backwards the steps that led him to take on the role of today in society. The exhibition presents itself as a collection of works from the artist’s imaginary museum. According to a universal conception of the figure of the artist\, interpreter of society and the individual\, Zangirolami produces artefacts and images and the collection on display is a symbolic representation of existential questions and the birth of rituals.  You could play with illusion\, in a journey back from some forest or remote area of the planet that gives us objects resembling archaeological finds of mysterious populations\, illustrations from logbooks\, maps\, masks\, relics\, pages potentially belonged to treatises never written\, a new cosmogony.  The artist’s will put the visitor in the subtly ambiguous condition of participating in his incredible journey poised between past and present. \nThe exhibition will be open from Tuesday to Friday 3- 9 pm. \nSaturday 10.30-13.00 / 15.30-19.30 every morning by appointment. \n  \nFor information                                                                                                                                                              \ninfo@cragallery.com \n+39 3351227609 \n  \nCHIONO REISOVA ART GALLERY – CRAG \nvia Giolitti\, 51 – 10123 Torino \nwww.cragallery.com

SUMMARY:Circolare\, ciclico - Solo show by Chen Li
\n  \n  \nEnglish version of the curatorial text \nAt the intersection of form and circular sense\, Ciclico is an exhibition-project by the Chinese painter Chen Li (Beijing\, 1988). More than an anthology of individualised productions\, the complex of works on show\, created during the summer of 2019\, was born as the result of a semiotic and curatorial vision carried out thanks to the synergy between artist\, gallerist and curator. The relationship between the chromatic choices of the artist and the will to investigate the possibilities offered by a pictorial support with atypical forms sublimates in an overall vision in which\, without losing its peculiar value\, each work contributes to the construction of a significant corpus.\n\nIn Circular\, the cyclical archetypal shape of the circle\, chosen as the format of the works\, is declined in some of its most universal meanings: cosmological emblem and symbol of the cyclical nature of time. Through the chromatic mutations of his canvases Chen Li gives life to a microcosm that reconstructs the cyclical nature of sunlight changes during a day\, interacting organically with the phytomorphic components of the subjects.\n\nCircular and cyclical is therefore the nature of time and light\, the main subjects of this set of works\, but also the formal and expository nature of the works themselves that the visitor is invited to observe following a path of discovery of the chromatic variations operated by the artist .\n  \n  \n  \nLa mostra sarà visitabile nell’orario della galleria da martedì a venerdì 15\,30 -19\,30 \nsabato 10.30-13.00 / 15\,30-19\,30 ogni mattina su appuntamento \n  \nPer informazioni                                                                                                                                                            \ninfo@cragallery.com \n+39 3351227609 \n  \nCHIONO REISOVA ART GALLERY – CRAG \nvia Giolitti\, 51 – 10123 Torino \nwww.cragallery.com \n  \n  \nCHEN LI \nNata a Bejing nel 1988\, si è laureata all’Accademia di Belle Arti di Roma nel 2012. \nVive e lavora a Torino.

SUMMARY:Louvre. 1987 - 2017. Solo show of Daniel Pype
DESCRIPTION:per il comunicato stampa Daniel Pype in italiano per favore cliccare qui.\n  \nIN OCCASIONE DI FO.TO Fotografi a Torino apertura DOMENICA 5 MAGGIO ORE 10-12 e 15.30 – 18.30\n  \nDaniel Pype \nLOUVRE 1987 – 2017 \nSolo show in the occasion of \nFO.TO. Fotografi a Torino organised by the Museo Ettore Fico \n3rd May – 1st June 2019 \nOpening Friday 3rd May 2019 from 5 – 10 p.m. \nThe artist will be present \n    \nCrag Gallery is glad to present “Louvre 1987 – 2017” the solo show of the French photographer Daniel Pype from the 3rd May to the 1st June 2019\, in the occasion of FO.TO. Fotografi a Torino\, organised by the Museo Ettore Fico. \nDaniel Pype (1949 – Créteil\, Paris) worked as a professional photographer since he was young and went in contact with personalities from the the Parisian and international art and culture world\, such as Mirò\, Andrè Malraux\, Cesar\, Tinguely and others. \nCrag Gallery decided to exhibit for the FO.TO. event the series of photography “Louvre 1987 – 2017”\, which is the result of a curious path began by the photograph in 1987 and ended in 2017. In 1987 Daniel Pype worked at the Louvre as night watchman and moved by the silence and by the night light that pervaded the art works of the museum\, he started photographing sculptures and paintings. The results are an elegant and charming game of lights and shadows\, clears and darks\, details of the art works emphasised by the natural light of the external street lights and by the unusual framing that Pype catches with the longue exposures. The photos were kept by the artist since 2016\, when he decided to show them for the first time to the Louvre director Pierre Rosemberg\, which moved by their beauty\, encouraged him to realise a new series in 2017 with digital photography. \nIt’s interesting the comparison between the analogic photography which characterises the series of 1987 and the digital one of 2017. The results are two faces of Louvre: lights act in different ways on sculptures and paintings\, it comes out a completely new perception and how Pype’s work suggests us:” the work of Art reflects and carry the tracks of the time […] and the night\, if listened\, has the power to reveals new and beautiful secrets”. \nDuring his long career Daniel Pype has collaborated with the magazines Connaissance des Arts and L’ Art Vivant\, published by the Maeght gallery and he has collaborated for years with the Centre Pompidou. The artist is represented by the Photo 12 Gallery located in Paris\, Los Angeles and Shanghai. \n \n  \n \n  \n \n  \n \n  \n \n  \n \n  \n \n \n  \n \n  \n \n  \n \n  \n \n  \nOpening times \nTuesday-Friday 3.30 / 7.30 pm \nSaturday 10-1 / 3.30-7.30 pm \nOther days or hours by appointment

SUMMARY:Vestiges of seeing - solo show of Yoon Il Kwon
DESCRIPTION:  \n© Filippo AlferoCRAG Gallery – inaugurazione mostra “Vestiges of Seeing” di Yoon Il KwonTorino\, 21/03/2019 \n© Filippo AlferoCRAG Gallery – inaugurazione mostra “Vestiges of Seeing” di Yoon Il KwonTorino\, 21/03/2019 \n  \nPRESS RELEASE  (for the Italian press release please click here Comunicato stampa Yoon Il Kwon) \n21st March – 27th April 2019 \n  \nVestiges of seeing \nSolo Show of Yoon Il Kwon \nCurated by Karin Reisovà and Chiara Williams \nOpening Thursday 21st March 2019   3 – 9 p.m. \nThe artist will be present \n  \nCrag Gallery is glad to present “Vestiges of Seeing”\, the solo show of Yoon Il Kwon (Incheon\, South Korea-1990) in collaboration with the Gallery Chiara Williams Contemporary (UK)\, from the 21st March to the 27th April 2019. \nAfter the selection of the artist as winner of the prize “The Solo Project” and the personal exhibition at the London Art Fair 2019\, Crag Gallery will show to the Turinese public the works of Yoon Il Kwon. The art works are realized by using printmaking techniques across 2D and 3D media to question permanence\, memory and value\, relating to his own personal childhood memories\, in a way that the artist hopes is universally accessible. In particular the artist encourages to reflect on the necessity to slow down our daily life; to stop\, think and above all to remember. It is important to give a sense to our existence and to identify the failing. \nAccording to the artist\, the layering and the print\, allow to linger on filtering\, on memory\, on the empty spaces and on the construction starting from the reconstruction. Describing his work\, Yoon Il Kwon says “I continuously try to focus on the diverse possibilities of layers to make an intellectual approach to printmaking”. \nDuring the exhibition the gallery will show art works of parallel series realised by the artist on the same topic. In particular\, the sculptural work “Memory” is composed by silk-screen printing on layers of napkins. These napkins represent our consumerism and disposable society\, but also memories where Yoon Il Kwon silk screened completely or in part some faces of his classmates. Many of them are forgotten or only distant memories\, while those he remembers better resurface for different reasons and\, how often happens in our lives\, only for a moment. \n“The Movement in the Space” is a series of etchings recalling the topic of memory\, describing the artist’s childhood\, starting by details express in movement. Even if Yoon Il Kwon represents small subjects and objects in black and white\, watching the works\, our mind instantly remembers the past: the feelings\, noises\, smells of the moments we all lived and of the places we hanged out at\, recalling for example our own playground memories. \nFinally “The Path of Eyes” is a series of mixed media works\, in which the artist focuses on daily life. We always look for a “suitable” place\, we live a tense daily routine and often we forget to live the moment\, to give importance to what we see. For the fulfilment of this series\, the artist took some photographs along one of his journey. He created for each work a thematic mosaic of smaller images laid over the central image\, which represents the present and past “memorable place”. Much value is given to minor images which stand for some of the most important details not only of the artist’s life\, but of the lives of all of us. \n  \nFind out more about his art works https://cragallery.com/artists/yoon-ilkwon/ \n  \n  \nBIOGRAPHY \nIl Kwoon Yoon (Incheon\, South Korea – 1990) studied at the Hong-Ik University (Printmaking\, BFA)\, Seoul\, Sout Korea. SUMMARY:Une traversée sans histoire - Paul De Flers
DESCRIPTION:  \n  \nPaul de Flers \nUN TRAVERSÉE SANS HISTOIRE \nMostra personale \n  \nDal 25 ottobre al 24 novembre 2018 \nInaugurazione 25 ottobre 2018 ore 14 – 21 \nsarà presente l’artista \n  \nApertura straordinaria durante La Notte dell’Arte Contemporanea \n in occasione di Artissima 2018 \n  \nCOMUNICATO STAMPA \n  \nCrag Gallery presenta i lavori del giovane pittore francese Paul de Flers nella personale dal titolo “Un traversée sans histoire” dal 25 ottobre al 24 novembre 2018.

SUMMARY:Tomas Tichy - About a digital dream
DESCRIPTION:  \nTomas Tichy \nABOUT A DIGITAL DREAM \nSolo Show \n  \n13th September – 20th October 2018 \nOpening 13th October 2018 \n  \nCatalogue on Show with text by Karin Reisovà  and Vlatislav Tokos \nComunicato stampa Tomas Tichy \n  \nFor the first time in Italy Crag Gallery presents in Italy the work of the young artist from Prague Tomas Tichy in a solo show entitled “About a Digital Dream” from the 13th September to the 18th October 2018. \nThe choice to exhibit Tichy’s work starts from the attention of the gallery towards the new generation of painters born in the mid 80s in Czech Republic. The artist is part of a trend which tries to renew the classic painting through current themes. This “Painting Renaissance” is deeply supported by the tradition of the Good Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts of Prague\, where the artist studied. \nThe artworks shown are coherent with the past cycles\, but they also present themselves as research medium of new and current contents that the artist expresses with technical skill\, starting from figuration to join abstract original elements. \nIn his paintings Tichy proposes a scenic plant in which he unites sparks from the reality that surrounds him and hypnotic timeless details. The artwork is permeated by a sensation of silence and stillness. They originate by the severe rationality of the impersonal and technical design typical of his city. The architectural aspect is then connected to the central skill of the new technologies and of their impact on people. The artist wants to give a double vision: on one side the technology offers himself to the man reassuring him\, supporting him\, instead on the other side it becomes creator of stress and doubts\, bringing the man to ignore the importance of empathy between humans. The artworks contain details difficult to catch\, but that influence and sometimes are crucial in the existential questions of our life. \nThe series of shown works includes the key painting Signal in which the artist starting from pictures taken in the Australian rainforest\, replaces a tree\, climbed by a friend\, with a prefabricated chipboard structure to represent the flows that surround us and that we love\, but that most of the time we lose. Chaos and order combine themselves to represent the society and how Tichy says “ What seems like chaos may sometimes have its own hidden pattern\, and where we see order\, chaos often prevails…” “. \n

SUMMARY:Giacomo Modolo - Project Room #1
DESCRIPTION:  \n \n  \n \n  \n \n  \n \n  \n \nThanks to the Project Room of Giacomo Modolo we can overcome the opposition between the life of the creative process and the loneliness of a single work from which the artist has to part\, leaving it alone in the moment of its presentation. No axiom to show and then impose on the viewer. What can be seen is that evidence that otherwise would not be visible\, the articulating of a process that is at the same time creative and narrative\, a complex system of quantitative and qualitative relations making each work the extension and the same time the contraction of another. We are allowed\, going through the different paintings\, to follow the artist in the development of his work\, the birth of his intuitions and inconclusiveness that let us down or otherwise promise something greater. \nWe are in a cloud unable to calculate the value of the sum of all the element presented in front of us\, for we are mere hosts in a system whose richness on fecundity are still at work. It is up to us to walk through\, from the real to the language itself\, letting us being transported from the movement of the narrative or rather chasing it\, make it and unmake it\, letting it go and taking it back again in a completely arbitrary position in space. If every sign is also a symptom\, the fruit of a conditioned stimulus\, the character of the artist continuously emerges from the paintings\, creating\, though the small variations of its greys\, roses\, blues and greens\, in an extraordinary refined syntax\, the rhythm of a visual path that becomes symphonic. Where is then the fulcrum of the work? This is exactly what is tormenting us\, it can be found! It must be sought and this research is a continuous aesthetic urge. \nWhere are we then? This Project Room is not a simple representation where an object\, made in the artist’s studio\, can be found. The dimension to prevail is the intimate one. The space is to be considered as something the artist cannot keep out from himself\, an inner dimension where the artistic product is continuously growing\, where creating means finding an origin in the work itself\, dominating the self. The perimeter from where we can understand the work becomes bigger and make the surrounding area a ground for multiple actions\, a scenography\, a place where the work is constantly struggling between the definition of the single work and the never ending referencing to other works. The wall is not the one of the gallery anymore\, a structural element converted into a passive surface whose only aim is to glorify a single painting\, but it becomes the ground where the narration proceeds asking the observer to follow\, to walk on its same path. If a narrative is indeed present it develops itself not in calligraphic terms\, but through the instinct and the ability to stimulate those emotive functions through which the paintings must be translated. It there a text and a precise reading time? No\, the chronologic evidence is denied because for the artist\, in the moment of its creation\, it is not a relentless flowing forward but a continuous that carries discontinuity within\, doing and undoing\, idleness and action\, waiting and inspiration. \nHis habit of working on multiple paintings at the same time\, the polytonal articulation of the composition\, refer again to a symphonic structure: the observer is drawn into a tangle of artistic relations\, in a myriad of trembles and pauses\, of challenges and drawbacks\, of resistances and splits\, of optical glitches and tonal scores that seems like showing off these beings one after the other\, one into another\, in a visual path constantly inconclusive. \nIn Modolo’s painting the situations and the objects are interpreted as moment of pure revelation\, letting out a glimpse\, through blunt signs\, of the underlying composition dynamics\, the lyrics leaps and the nervous interruptions of the images\, a syncopated and convergent reality\, characterised by an instability that shows itself through fragments and mysterious effects\, with discontinuities\, sequences and mutations\, in a disposition showing an intense passion. Everything is kept together by a tense and suffered intensity. The eye of the observer is challenged by this fragmentation\, its right to clearly see through it is ignored and the frustration originating from it is exactly what can lead him to the art of Modolo’s art\, to this bundle of anger and love that characterises life. \n  \nMarco Petrocchi \n

SUMMARY:Project Room #1 - Giacomo Modolo

DESCRIPTION:(For the English version of the press release Minguzzi please have a look at the bottom in this page)\nCRAG Gallery apre la stagione invernale con la mostra personale dell’artista Enrico Minguzzi\, “Ricordo di non esserci mai stato”\, a cura di Karin Reisovà\, dal 27 ottobre al 25 novembre\, in vista della settimana di Artissima.

SUMMARY:Gotico Sardo e inaugurazione nuova sede
DESCRIPTION:  \nInaugurazione 15-16 settembre 2017 ore 16/20.

SUMMARY:Luca Moscariello - Fasmidi
DESCRIPTION:  \nFASMIDI \nSolo show of Luca Moscariello \nFrom June 8th to July 2nd 2017 \nOpening June 8th from 5 – 10 pm \nThe artist will be present \n  \nPRESS RELEASE \nFrom June the 8th to July the 2nd 2017\, as last exhibition of the season\, CRAG Gallery proposes Fasmide\, the solo show of the artist Luca Moscariello with a selection of works on table realised in the last two years. \nSince ever the work by Luca Moscariello is link to ancient writing experiences: he moves shapes in a space of synthesis for extracting the stillness and the silence that they guard; he deconstructs and assembles creating different modes and creative novelty. In his work everything in the same time is moving and resting\, hugging the eye in a simultaneous way by the proliferation of surfaces that aiming to be a whole. The actual impossibility to penetrate those “eteropics” spaces determines that that “everything” remains suspended in the a temporality of an infinity wait and for this reason absurd. \nIn this series\, where Fasmide is the lead art work\, the artist creates a compositional stake\, that is the results of the emersion in the image and of his contemporary camouflage. \nMoscariello takes inspiration from the “La conoscenza accidentale” by the great historic Georges Didi-Huberman where a chapter speaks about the Fasmidi\, insects that Insects that camouflage themselves in the environment feeding themselves and fit undisturbed. \nThe artist starts from analysis similar to the aforementioned paradoxes and he moves himself thinking about the artwork as a very colourful writing that\, through repeated excesses\, loses her linearity for opening to an synesthetic impression\, In which the user’s perception suffers a contamination of image\, colour and sound. In the painted table everything is “hidden in a full view”\, as suspended on the surface of memory. \n  \nMostra aperta ogni giorno su appuntamento dalle 10 alle 19 \nwww.cragallery.com     info@cragallery.com \n+39 347 3420598 \n+39 335 1227609 \n  \n

SUMMARY:Mattia Novello "Morfologia dello spazio - Fotografie dal 2008 - 2016"
DESCRIPTION:  \nMorfologia dello spazio \nPhotographs from 2008 to 2016 \nSolo Show by Mattia Novello \nfrom April 7th to May 14th 2017 \nOpening 7th and 8th April from 4 – 10 pm (continued) \nThe artist will be present \n  \nPRESS RELEASE \nCRAG Gallery presents the first photographic exhibition of Mattia Novello in the solo show entitled “Morfologia dello spazio – Photographs from 2008 to 2016”. \nMattia Novello (Thiene\, 1985)\, an eclectic and sophisticated artist\, studied between Milan and New York. He was a finalist of the Cairo Prize and of the Art Prize CBM\, and he collaborates with CRAG Gallery\, which has decided to exhibit the photo shoots that the artist has taken during the different and fruitful journeys around the world\, especially in the United States\, China\, Japan\, Spain and Italy. \nNovello’s work\, not only the photographic one\, is characterised by an approach free from any prejudice and conformism. The artist is an extremely curious observer who finds inspiration both from the single details of daily life and from the great “obstacles” such as skyscrapers and urban structures. \nWith irony\, he tries to deduce the universality of places and situations through the lens\, freeing them and ourselves from a utilitarian and domesticated approach. \nIn the exhibition the series of skyscrapers Forma cittadina and Pareti Urbane will be supported by two videos that will accompany the visitors throughout the exhibition\, showing the human and geographical experience of the artist. \nCarolina Lio wrote about Mattia Novello: ” The artist creates a balanced\, realistic and at the same time intellectual and practical perspective that connects silence to noise\, social relations to isolation\, extraneousness to absorption\, good to evil.He doesn’t need to belong to an extreme anymore and he lives in a simple purity of clear and strong awareness. “. \n  \n  \nwww.cragallery.com     info@cragallery.com \n+39 347 3420598 \n+39 335 1227609 \n  \n  \n

SUMMARY:In the middle of something - Jiri Hauschka
DESCRIPTION:  \n\nscarica il comunicato stampa in italiano cs Hauschka\nCRAG Gallery opens the 2017 with the exhibition “In the middle of something” of the Czech painter Jiri Hauschka (1965) from February 24 to March 26\, 2017. \nHauschka belongs to the “Stuckism”\, an international art movement founded in 1999 by artists Billy Childish and Charles Thomson in the UK in order to promote an artistic research oriented to figurative painting\, in opposition to the conceptual art of the Young British Artists. \nThe works on display were created in 2016. Woods\, roads\, mountains\, lakes\, rivers and architecture are part of a process during which the artist explored his relationship with nature and the environment around him\, expressing a painting in balance between abstraction and realism. \nRobert Janas\, art historian\, founder in 2004 of the Stuckism in Prague\, wrote about Jiri Hauschka that in his paintings the Neo-Expressionism joins a strong feeling for the composition\, based on open spaces bounded by accentuated contours and by the colors used symbolically to give liquidity to the form. \nThe beauty of his work is therefore what he calls the “story”\, his story\, that he wants to share in the middle of something with the public. His work brings the viewer in the balance between simple landscapes and the greatness of our surroundings. \nThe exhibition is organised in collaboration with the Cerna Labut Gallery\, ArtLine of Prague and has the patronage of the Czech Centre of Culture of Milan. \n  \n  \n
