On the occasion of Art Week and Milano Design Week, Superlab presents Above Suspicion, a solo exhibition by Sebastiano Pallavisini. The exhibition marks the beginning of a new collaborative path with CRAG Gallery and inaugurates a program dedicated to emerging artists, within a space conceived as a dynamic environment for research, promotion, and dialogue.

Pallavisini’s painting practice is rooted in his training at the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice, reflected in a careful construction of the image and a particular sensitivity to painterly material and the relationship between figure and space. Painting emerges as a layered language in which mark and color retain a strong expressive autonomy.

The works are inhabited by animal figures and hybrid presences, suspended between reality and imagination. While maintaining formal recognizability, these subjects adopt attitudes and dynamics that recall human behavior: they observe one another, brush past each other, isolate themselves, or confront each other. The result is a series of scenes that evoke shared relationships and fragilities, activating a subtle shift between animal and human in which the viewer is led to recognize elements of their own experience.

A distinctive feature of the work is a subtle, understated irony that runs through the images via deviations, unexpected juxtapositions, and slight dissonances. This register keeps the works balanced between immediacy and depth, avoiding a single, fixed interpretation.

The exhibition is conceived as an experience of discovery and direct interaction. The works require an active gaze and a willingness to engage: not passive viewing, but an encounter in which each piece is completed through the viewer’s interpretation. In June, a site-specific installation by the artist will also be created.

This participatory dimension reflects the very identity of Superlab, understood as a space where art is lived and shared, in constant dialogue with its audience.

Above Suspicion therefore represents not only an exhibition moment, but the beginning of a broader project: a place where contemporary art maintains a strong linguistic identity while opening up to new modes of relationship and experience.

COMUNICATO STAMPA

Sebastiano Pallavisini
Al di sopra di ogni sospetto

A cura di CRAG Gallery
Presso Superlab, Milano

Inaugurazione: 16 aprile 2026 ore 18-20
Periodo: 16 aprile – 26 giugno 2026

CRAG GALLERY is pleased to present, for the second consecutive year in collaboration with VisionQuesT4rosso in Genoa, the two-person exhibition “DENDROGRAPHIES_The Secret Writing of Trees”, opening on May 7, 2026, as part of the programme for Turin’s Month of Photography.

The exhibition brings into dialogue the works of Carolina Cuneo and Francesca Migone: two artists distant in generation and methodological approach, yet united by the desire to explore the utopia of a reconciliation between human beings and the natural world. The exhibition investigates a dimension in which the planet is not merely a setting, but a living organism that pulses and breathes in harmony with universal vital energy.

The exhibition path moves between archetype and matter, beyond the boundaries of the visible, rejecting processes of contemporary alienation in order to embrace a journey of meditation and regeneration. In Francesca Migone’s works, copper threads evoke the textures of chestnut bark, intertwining in an intense dialogue with nocturnal images of silent forests.

The same concept of interweaving and vision—this time centred on the tree as symbol and universal archetype—appears in Carolina Cuneo’s photographic works: the tree as an axis joining earth and sky, conscious and unconscious. In this space, the human being rediscovers their ancient role as mediator and guardian of an ancestral symbolic heritage.

The artistic operation takes shape as a continuous metamorphosis: a flow that dissolves generational distances in order to celebrate movement, continuity, and the profound aspiration to become “one” with nature.

Carolina Cuneo was born in Genoa, where she lives and works. She developed her photographic path in her hometown with photographers Alberto Terrile and Franco Fontana.

She works with her head in the clouds, one foot on Earth and the other among the stars. If the category of “poetic photography” truly existed, much of her work would stand as a reference point. Hers is a constant navigation between visual art photography and creative photography. Despite her reserved nature, her passion for art history and her creative research make her an essential contemporary voice in photography, where she has learned to master and subtly play with light. Her works have been exhibited at contemporary art fairs in Venice, Salerno, New York, Gaspé, and Turin, as well as in photography exhibitions in Savignano sul Rubicone, Arles, and Reggio Emilia.

Francesca Migone (1989) currently works between Genoa and Milan, where her studio is based. Her research focuses on the dynamics linked to the transformation of a place from visual and political-sociological perspectives.

She works across different scales of complexity, highlighting the relationships between object, space, and context, often using textile as a defining element and interpretative key to the environment. She obtained a specialist degree in Decoration, focusing her research on textile experimentation within visual arts and multimedia installations. She also pursued studies in textile surface design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna, continuing her training through the study and practice of weaving. Her works have been exhibited at ViaFarini Residence, Anonima Kunsthalle Varese, Triennale Milano, Biennale di Monza, Museo di Arte Contemporanea Villa Croce, The Others Art Fair, and Meeting Gardens Festival.

DENDROGRAFIE

La scrittura segreta degli alberi

Carolina Cuneo e Francesca Migone

7 maggio – 7 giugno 2026

Via Maria Vittoria 45 – Torino

Carolina Cuneo nasce Genova, dove vive e lavora.

Sue opere sono state esposte in fiere d’arte contemporanea a Venezia, Salerno, New York, Gaspé, Torino e in mostre fotografiche a Savignano sul Rubicone, Arles, Reggio Emilia.

The Vertiges series develops a visual language centered on spatial ambiguity and beauty. Architectural forms are fragmented and reconfigured into dynamic compositions, where perspective becomes unstable and the viewer is immersed in a suspended, vertiginous experience of space. Light fractures surfaces and amplifies the tension between solidity and dissolution, generating a sense of movement within static structures.

On the occasion of the exhibition, a key image has been produced, dedicated to the staircase that will host the project, in which the artist reinterprets the space in both its physical and perceptual dimensions, offering an unprecedented and deeply personal perspective. For the artist, architecture is conceived as an artistic fact: a phenomenon capable of generating emotion and activating a perceptual relationship with the viewer.

NH COLLECTION TORINO PIAZZA CARLINA PRESENTA:

VERTIGES

UNA PROJECT ROOM DI CHIARA FERRANDO

CURATA DA CRAG GALLERY

INAUGURAZIONE 13 MAGGIO H.19.00

NH COLLECTION TORINO PIAZZA CARLINA
