DESCRIPTION:  \n \n  \n \n  \n \n  \n  \n  \nDIPINGERE LO SPAZIO. \nOMAGGIO A GIO PONTI \n Mostra personale di Bea Sarrias \n24 ottobre – 28 novembre 2024 \n  \nInaugurazione 24 ottobre ore 17/21 \nCRAG Gallery è lieta di presentare la prima mostra personale in Italia dell’artista spagnola Bea Sarrias (Barcellona\, 1979) in occasione della Art Week Torinese con inaugurazione il 24 ottobre in via Parma 66D\, Torino. \n L’artista\, interessata alla figurazione legata alla architettura moderna e contemporanea\, esplora in questa mostra un filone dedicato alla figura dell’architetto Gio Ponti. \nGli spazi architettonici e la poetica del grande Architetto rivivono nei dipinti attraverso lo sguardo e l’interpretazione dell’artista.  Il suo lavoro è concentrato sul catturare le luci e le atmosfere delle architetture. \nE’ proprio la luce l’elemento chiave ci permette di “sentire” l’architettura\, interpretandola emotivamente. Nei dipinti diventa infatti personaggio silenzioso che dà vita alle linee pure e moderne dell’architettura pontiana\, catturando anche momenti effimeri. Troviamo la luce che sfiora una parete  o il calore del pavimento illuminato dal sole pomeridiano o ancora la luce che dà movimento alla facciata esterna di una villa. Nei dipinti di Sarrias la luce non solo illumina\, ma racconta una storia\, la stessa storia che Ponti tratteggiava nei suoi edifici: una celebrazione della bellezza\, della semplicità e della chiarezza. «Mi interessano la prospettiva\, la composizione e\, soprattutto\, la luce. Per me l’architettura è uno strumento con cui dipingere la luce. La luce modella gli spazi e crea presenza. Con la luce cerco di catturare l’anima stessa degli spazi che dipingo. \nSarrias non dipinge edifici\, ma crea piuttosto ritratti di spazi. Il suo lavoro è antropologico e consiste in ricerca\, fotografia e persino video per documentare il passato e il presente degli edifici\, suggerendo sottilmente la presenza\, e talvolta l’assenza\, dei loro abitanti. Le figure umane\, infatti\, non compaiono nei dipinti\, se non raramente\, ma Bea Sarrias riesce ad evocare le tracce delle presenze di chi ha creato e abitato i luoghi\, crea inoltre una tensione tra gli interni e gli esterni. \nL’artista trova nell’opera di Ponti forte stimolo per la realizzazione dei suoi dipinti\, facendoci respirare tutta l’ecletticità e la sensibilità del maestro\, pioniere dell’architettura moderna\, conferendo ai quadri la matericità dell’architettura e la poetica della luce che la trasforma. \nGli iconici edifici di Gio Ponti\, come Villa Planchart a Caracas e il famoso grattacielo Pirelli a Milano\, sono progettati per interagire con la luce in modo dinamico\, creando ombre e riflessi che trasformano gli spazi. \nIn sintesi\, Bea Sarrias trova nel lavoro di Giò Ponti una risonanza artistica che va oltre la struttura e il design. \nUna serie di opere in mostra è poi ispirata al pavimento Giallo Fantastico disegnato da Giò Ponti nel 1958 per il Museo Richard-Ginori e inserito nel Pirellone\, composto da piastrelle nei toni del giallo e del nero che generano un disegno ondulato\, creando un effetto visivo che simula il movimento dell’acqua. Ponti ha concepito questi pavimenti non solo come superficie funzionale\, ma come un’opera d’arte all’interno dell’ambiente architettonico\, giocando con la geometria per creare una sensazione di movimento e dinamismo sotto i piedi. \nBea Sarrias ha catturato con il suo pennello l’eleganza e l’ingegnosità di questi pavimenti geometrici\, facendoli ulteriormente interagire con la luce e le ombre\, rafforzando la profondità spaziale e l’atmosfera dell’ambiente. L’artista coglie la complessità delle forme e dei colori ideati da Ponti\, ma lo fa da una prospettiva che mette in risalto la sua interazione con la luce. Attraverso la sua interpretazione\, Sarrias non solo rende omaggio alla meticolosità del design di Ponti\, ma mette in risalto anche la sua capacità di utilizzare la luce come risorsa espressiva. Nei suoi dipinti il ​​pavimento del palazzo Pirelli diventa parte essenziale del dialogo tra architettura\, spazio e luce. \nL’allestimento di mostra sarà inoltre arricchito proprio dal pavimento Giallo Fantastico con pattern che riproduce fedelmente l’originale\, presentato da Rezina nel 2023 al Salone del Mobile. \nBea Sarrias ha esposto a New York\, Oslo\, Malmö (Svezia) e Bruxelles\, ed è presente in varie collezioni come la Mies van der Rohe Foundation\, Open Earth Foundation\, Eileen Kaminsky Foundation\, Saffca Foundation. \nIn occasione della mostra sarà presente l’artista e alcune sue opere saranno esposte durante la settimana di Artissima a The Others\, nella nuova sede fieristica nell’ONU center di Torino. \nCRAG GALLERY \nCHIONO REISOVA ART GALLERY (CRAG) promuove artisti emergenti e di metà carriera\, in particolare pittori e scultori\, sia italiani che stranieri\, con attenzione alla ricerca figurativa. La Galleria ha sede nel centro di Torino dal 2016 ed è guidata da Elisabetta Chiono e Karin Reisovà. Elisabetta\, avvocato specializzato in diritto dell’arte\, ha deciso insieme a Karin di aprire la galleria per condividere il suo personale approccio e passione per l’arte e il collezionismo\, in particolare per scoprire giovani artisti. Collabora come contributor con la rivista Exibart ed è Presidente di TAG-Torino Art Galleries\, associazione delle gallerie di arte contemporanea di Torino. Karin\, architetto\, condivide la direzione artistica e l’evoluzione della galleria\, con particolare esperienza nel campo della progettazione culturale. Il focus della galleria è lo scouting di giovani artisti e il sostegno degli artisti di metà carriera. Nella nostra visione la galleria è anche uno spazio per progetti sperimentali e curatoriali. We find the light that touches a wall or the warmth of the floor illuminated by the afternoon sun or the light that gives movement to the external facade of a villa. In Sarrias’ paintings\, light not only illuminates\, but tells a story\, the same story that Ponti outlined in his buildings: a celebration of beauty\, simplicity and clarity. «I am interested in perspective\, composition and\, above all\, light. For me\, architecture is a tool with which to paint light. Light shapes spaces and creates presence. With light I try to capture the very soul of the spaces I paint. Sarrias does not paint buildings\, but rather creates portraits of spaces. His work is anthropological and consists of research\, photography and even video to document the past and present of buildings\, subtly suggesting the presence\, and sometimes the absence\, of their inhabitants. Human figures\, in fact\, rarely appear in the paintings\, but Bea Sarrias manages to evoke the traces of the presence of those who created and inhabited the places\, and also creates a tension between the interiors and the exteriors.\nThe artist finds in Ponti’s work a strong stimulus for the creation of her paintings\, making us breathe all the eclecticism and sensitivity of the master\, a pioneer of modern architecture\, giving the paintings the materiality of architecture and the poetics of light that transforms it.\nGio Ponti’s iconic buildings\, such as Villa Planchart in Caracas and the famous Pirelli skyscraper in Milan\, are designed to interact with light in a dynamic way\, creating shadows and reflections that transform spaces.\nIn short\, Bea Sarrias finds in Giò Ponti’s work an artistic resonance that goes beyond structure and design. \nA series of works on display is inspired by the Giallo Fantastico floor designed by Giò Ponti in 1958 for the Richard-Ginori Museum and inserted in the Pirellone\, composed of tiles in shades of yellow and black that generate a wavy design\, creating a visual effect that simulates the movement of water. Ponti conceived these floors not only as a functional surface\, but as a work of art within the architectural environment\, playing with geometry to create a sensation of movement and dynamism underfoot.\nBea Sarrias has captured the elegance and ingenuity of these geometric floors with her brush\, making them interact further with light and shadow\, reinforcing the spatial depth and atmosphere of the environment. The artist captures the complexity of the shapes and colors conceived by Ponti\, but does so from a perspective that highlights his interaction with light. Through her interpretation\, Sarrias not only pays homage to the meticulousness of Ponti’s design\, but also highlights his ability to use light as an expressive resource.
