DESCRIPTION:ph Bruno Barbero\n \n \nCONTINUUM \nMostra personale di Tomas Tichy \nVia Parma 66 D – Torino \n5 ottobre – 12 novembre 2022 \nIl 5 ottobre 2022 CRAG Gallery presenta il nuovo spazio espositivo con la mostra Continuum dell’artista Tomas Tichy (Praga\, 1984) appartenente alla scena praghese della giovane pittura figurativa. \nIl luminosissimo loft nel quartiere Regio Parco in via Parma 66D\, che si affianca alla sede di via Giolitti 51\, vuole diventare a partire dal 2023 uno spazio di scambio tra arte\, design\, ed esperienze\, interessi\, e visioni di menti creative. Il desiderio è di condividere progetti tra più generazioni e continuare il percorso della galleria alla ricerca di artisti emergenti. \nPer questa preview dello spazio\, CRAG Gallery ha scelto di presentare un ciclo tematico realizzato tra il 2020 ed il 2022\, con fulcro l’osservazione dei cambiamenti dovuti alle tecnologie digitali e post-mediali che hanno influenzato ed influenzano la sensibilità dell’essere umano. A partire da immagini fotografiche in movimento\, Tomas Tichy con il media pittorico ci restituisce opere che interagiscono con la nostra percezione. \nIn passato la pittura figurativa rappresentava prevalentemente la realtà per ciò che era: attraverso le opere di Tichy le raffigurazioni contemporanee riportano ad una realtà mistificata\, fluida e cruda\, ad un dualismo tra ciò che è e ciò che appare. \nLe tematiche approfondite dall’artista sono molteplici\, dalla moda\, allo sport\, alle tecnologie\, agli idoli. I soggetti rappresentati nell’atto sportivo sono caratterizzati da una accelerazione quasi atemporale\, a metafora della nostra costante esigenza o abitudine alla corsa e competitività nelle azioni quotidiane. \nDall’altro lato l’artista si concentra sui “paradisi artificiali” della moda\, nei quali oggi più che mai il mondo del digitale ci presenta una realtà ideale e spesso effimera. Le immagini\, in particolare delle modelle iconiche\, vengono modificate pittoricamente come se fossero create meccanicamente dal trascinamento delle immagini su iPad. Viene ricreata una nuova dimensione di percezione del volto e della figura che restituisce il lato umano\, reale\, quasi malinconico\, abbandonando quello statico e di “facciata”. \nNelle opere ritroviamo “piante digitali”\, come analogia dell’intelligenza artificiale\, “con una forma che allude allo stato naturale seppure quello che stiamo osservando sia solo una struttura surrogata\, mimetizzata”” (Petr Vanous)\, che trasmette energia da un lato\, ma alienazione dall’altro. \nQuesto costante dualismo critico nelle rappresentazioni\, pregnante nelle scene di box o nell’interazione uomo-animale\, è portato avanti da Tichy con convinzione dello strumento artistico come chiave di presa di coscienza ed invito a vedere le opere d’arte come specchio di riflessione e abbandono ad una dimensione umana da ritrovare. \nPer visionare le opere https://cragallery.com/artists/tomas-tichy/ \n \n\n \n \nCONTINUUM \nSolo exhibition of Tomas Tichy \nNew space preview \nVia Parma 66 D – Turin \n5 October – 12 November 2022 \nOn 5 October 2022 CRAG Gallery presents the new exhibition space with the Continuum exhibition by the artist Tomas Tichy (Prague\, 1984) belonging to the Prague scene of young figurative painting. \nThe bright loft in the Regio Parco district in via Parma 66D\, which joins the headquarters in via Giolitti 51\, wants to become\, starting from 2023\, a space for exchange between art\, design\, and experiences\, interests\, and visions of creative minds. The desire is to share projects between generations and continue the path of the gallery in search of emerging artists. \nFor this preview of the space\, CRAG Gallery has chosen to present a thematic cycle created between 2020 and 2022\, with the focus on observing the changes due to digital and post-media technologies that have influenced and influence the sensitivity of the human being. Starting from photographic images in motion\, Tomas Tichy with the pictorial media gives us works that interact with our perception. \nIn the past\, figurative painting mainly represented reality for what it was: through Tichy’s works\, contemporary representations bring back to a mystified\, fluid and raw reality\, to a dualism between what is and what appears. \nThe themes explored by the artist are many\, from fashion\, to sport\, to technologies\, to idols. The subjects represented in the sporting act are characterized by an almost timeless acceleration\, a metaphor of our constant need or habit of running and competitiveness in daily actions. \nOn the other hand\, the artist focuses on the “artificial paradises” of fashion\, in which today more than ever the digital world presents us with an ideal and often ephemeral reality. Images\, especially of iconic models\, are pictorially modified as if they were created mechanically by dragging the images onto the iPad. A new dimension of perception of the face and of the figure is recreated which returns the human\, real\, almost melancholic side\, abandoning the static and “facade” side. \nIn the works we find “digital plants”\, as an analogy of artificial intelligence\, “with a form that alludes to the natural state even though what we are observing is only a surrogate\, camouflaged structure” “(Petr Vanous)\, which transmits energy on the one hand\, but alienation from the other. \nThis constant critical dualism in the representations\, pregnant in the box scenes or in the human-animal interaction\, is carried out by Tichy with conviction of the artistic instrument as a key to awareness and an invitation to see the works of art as a mirror of reflection and abandonment to a human dimension to be rediscovered. \n\nPer visionare le opere https://cragallery.com/artists/tomas-tichy/

DESCRIPTION:PH Bruno Barbero\nBLAZE \nMostra personale di Giacomo Modolo \nVia Giolitti 51 – Torino \n27 ottobre – 26 novembre 2022 \nInaugurazione giovedì 27 ottobre 16/20 \nL’artista sarà presente  \nIn occasione della settimana dell’arte torinese\, CRAG Gallery presenta la mostra BLAZE\, personale dell’artista Giacomo Modolo (Vicenza\, 1988) dal 27 ottobre al 26 novembre 2022. \nLa mostra nasce da una nuova ricerca del giovane artista\, realizzato in parte a Torino\, dopo un lungo periodo di riflessione sulla sua pratica pittorica\, interiore ed estetica\, un rito purificatorio. \nLa scelta stilistica e contenutistica della ricerca di Giacomo Modolo mette in primo piano il discorso della Forma\, in particolare attraverso la rappresentazione dei felini\, protagonisti indiscussi delle nuove opere\, sia da un punto di vista simbolico e sia per la loro anatomia appagante per l’artista. \nA partire dalla Forma si evolvono i quadri\, con una forte base decorativa che deriva dalla formazione accademica di Modolo\, alternando piani più fluidi ad altri schematici\, passando dall’aspetto illustrativo e narrativo ad una ricerca che ricorda il manifesto. \nLa pittura talvolta più gestuale viene alternata a soluzioni e campiture piatte\, dando rilievo alle differenti fasi tra progettazione e realizzazione. \nGli animali\, guardiani della composizione\, si mescolano con il paesaggio astratto\, che spesso si trasforma diventando fiamma (un falò depurativo) o bandiera (quale ricerca di una identità che già permaneva nelle opere precedenti). \nTra le fiamme e i fumi psichedelici le immagini bruciano e si rigenerano nel continuo ricambio di linee\, volto a dare forma alla tessitura di una trama. Decorazione e gesto creano immaginari iconici\, quasi manifesti grafici dalle fattezze fluide\, teatrali e dichiaratamente illustrative. \nEd è in questo rituale che sono gettate nel fuoco le bandiere\, gli animali feroci e le relazioni\, ovvero tutto quello che si fa simbolo delle certezze quotidiane dell’artista come il senso di appartenenza a qualcosa o a qualcuno. \n“Blaze\, utilizzando termini musicali\, a me più amichevoli\, non si tratta di un album completo ma piuttosto di una “demo” di pochi brani: scritti nel mezzo di una carriera già avviata ed impegnati a tracciare una pagina\, seppur sperimentale\, di cambiamento (estetico e spirituale).” \nmostra visitabile ma – sa 11/13 e 15.30/19 o su appuntamento \n\nBLAZE \nPersonal exhibition of Giacomo Modolo \nVia Giolitti 51 – Turin \n27 October – 26 November 2022 \nOpening Thursday 27 October 16/20 \nThe artist will be present \nOn the occasion of the Turin art week\, CRAG Gallery presents the BLAZE exhibition\, a personal exhibition by the artist Giacomo Modolo (Vicenza\, 1988). \nThe exhibition was born from a new pictorial cycle of the young artist\, realized in part in Turin\, after a long period of reflection on his pictorial practice\, and a crescendo of interior and aesthetic research\, a purifying rite. \nThe stylistic and content choice of Giacomo Modolo’s research highlights the discourse of Form\, in particular through the representation of felines\, the undisputed protagonists of the new works\, both from a symbolic point of view and for their satisfying anatomy for the artist. \nThe paintings therefore evolve starting from the Form\, with a strong decorative base that derives from Modolo’s academic training\, alternating more fluid planes with other schematic ones\, passing from the illustrative and narrative aspect to a research that recalls the manifesto. \nSometimes more gestural painting is alternated with solutions and flat backgrounds\, emphasizing the different phases between design and construction. \nThe animals\, guardians of the composition\, mingle with the abstract landscape\, which often transforms itself into a flame (a purifying bonfire) or a flag (as a search for an identity that already persisted in previous works). \nBetween the flames and the psychedelic fumes the images burn and regenerate themselves in the continuous exchange of lines\, aimed at giving shape to the weaving of a plot. Decoration and gesture create iconic imaginaries\, almost graphic posters with fluid\, theatrical and openly illustrative features. \nAnd it is in this ritual that flags\, ferocious animals and relationships are thrown into the fire\, that is\, everything that becomes a symbol of the artist’s daily certainties such as the sense of belonging to something or someone. \n“Blaze is not a pictorial cycle. Using musical terms\, more friendly to me\, this is not a complete album but rather a “demo” of a few songs: written in the middle of a career already underway and committed to tracing a page\, albeit experimental\, of change (aesthetic and spiritual).” \nexhibition open from 11 am to 1 pm and from 3.30 pm to 7 pm or by appointment
