DESCRIPTION:  \n \n  \n  \n \n  \n \n  \n \n  \n \n  \n \n  \nMickael Doucet \nLa possibilité d’une ile \nSolo show \n27th August – 27th September 2020 \n  \nPRESS RELEASE (for italian version please click here Comunicato stampa Mickael Doucet) \n  \nLa possibilitè d’une ile is the title of the personal exhibition of the French artist Mickael Doucet (1974) which CRAG Gallery is pleased to host from 27th August to 27th September in via Giolitti 51\, Turin. \nThe works on display talk about an island. \nA treasure island or perhaps a lost and mysterious paradise\, for the artist a true reassuring and contemporary refuge that he identifies as a virgin place\, far from the tumult of the world. It is a place that can be both our origin and our relevance. \nThe representations are born from the artist’s desire to return to a stage of intimacy and solitude\, as a rebirth and detachment from an excessively intrusive civilisation. This journey\, full of colours and characterised by architectures and seas\, it is powered by the love for literature from which Doucet takes a cue\, also for the choice of the subjects represented. From Zeus\, to Ulysses to Thomas Moore. An Island as utopia\, as asylum. \nThis “utopian elsewhere”\, as defined by Doucet\, is offered to our eyes\, but if we look carefully it is less inaccessible than what it seems. In fact\, sometimes it is simply our home\, where we have retired far from conflict\, to think and meditate\, with the help of art and culture. \nCurator Marion Guggenheim describes Doucet’s work as “something luxurious. DESCRIPTION:  \nFilippo Bosso \nAd occhio nudo \nSolo Show \n  3 – 27 September 2020 \nOpening 3 – 4 – 5 September from 3.30 to 9 pm \nthe artist will be present \n  \nThe exhibition will be open everyday by appointment \nPRESS RELEASE (for the italian version Comunicato stampa Bosso 2020) \n CRAG is glad to present at the Home Gallery in via Maria Vittoria 45\, Turin\, the photographs of Filippo Bosso with the exhibition “Ad occhio nudo” from the 3rd of September 2020 to the 27th. The thirty artworks are all selected from a long journey of silent photographic practice\, away from the clamor. In the New York pictures of 1979\, it is already perceptible the research of the essential\, pursued till today\, and conducting thought of Filippo Bosso’s work. \nHis capacity of taking over the “space-time situation”\, catching just a few elements considered relevant to his eye\, is presented in three series of works: details of Shangai’s architecture\, horizons between sea and sky in Wales and refined shots of vegetal elements\, at times to the limit of the abstraction. \nThe pictures\, that with extreme quality represent the relationship of the author with the world both natural and constructed\, are solved with a freedom sense\, a thin emotion that is actually anti-rhetorical. Filippo Bosso’s work fits perfectly with a thought by Diego Mormorio “Who takes pictures thinking about the audience\, takes pictures not for himself but for the others”. \nIn his landscapes is perceived the feeling of the author facing the vastness of nature and only a few lines are needed\, the detail of a surfer in the distance or of the wind turbines on the horizon because the observer could complete the scene in his own mind imagining the hidden part. \nDuring the lockdown it was common in the art world and not only\, to reflect about the need of finding a dimension that exiles from the continuous spectacularisation of our lives and of our actions: we will understand if these reflections will find their own space and if there will be some changes.
