DESCRIPTION:DOMA 2025 \nGroup exhibition \nFrom October 28 to November 23\, 2025\nCRAG HOME GALLERY – Via Maria Vittoria 45 – Turin \ncurated by Karin Reisova \nFor the second year running\, during Turin Art Week\, coinciding with Artissima\, Crag Gallery is presenting the DOMA exhibition at its Home Gallery in Via Maria Vittoria\, right in the city center.\nThis edition will feature works by Italian and Czech artists\, consolidating the cultural bridge that has always characterized Crag’s work.\nThis year’s theme is IL GIOCO/THE GAME\, and the selected artists interpret it from different points of view. Play has a fundamental importance in our society because it indicates a free and spontaneous activity\, essential for the intellectual development of children and important for adults because it represents a moment of escape from daily responsibilities. As early as 1926\, philosopher Jurgen Moltmann believed that play had a suspensive function from normal activity and a relaxing function from everyday tensions.Art and play intertwine in life\, from playing in love\, to video games\, to the depiction of moments from childhood.\nWith precious Bohemian crystal inlays\, Radoslav Bigos exhibits in Italy for the first time and intervenes on paintings depicting the male nude revealed in intriguing playing cards.\nJiri Hauschka’s work\, which balances between abstract painting and realism\, incorporates personal stories of games immersed in the nature of the Bohemian Forest.\nThe appeal to a sense of belonging is the basis of a quest that questions the ideological fragility of the contemporary world\, and often the appeal to alignment takes on the traits of stadium fans\, and the flag\, a theme dear to Giacomo Modolo\, becomes the object of play between parties\, in the continuous and obsessive search for an identity\, that of a new flag for a nation that does not exist\, an ideal nation\, a flag to imagine a better world. The work is a collaboration with graphic designer Nicolò Gemieri.\nMattia Noal\, an Italian artist based in Frankfurt\, exhibits a sandbox with the player\, the object\, and the landscape to be reached\, which is characterized by landmarks\, markers\, as in the levels of a video game. His work is a combination of refined painting and parts of a video game\, all set in a Nordic atmosphere. Paolo Pibi revisits a late 19th-century puppet theater\, a game that is certainly no longer in vogue but which is still present in our collective memory. The title of his painting is Piccoli Brividi (Goosebumps)\, a book series famous for his generation. Ondřej Roubik also tackles the theme of virtual reality in his painting: his works are stories in which the subjects play in a real and omnipresent dimension\, isolated and unaware that the world of virtual reality influences them and slows down their intuitive behavior.\nIn the series of photographs “Coriandoli” (Confetti)\, Enrico Smerilli focuses on the image of confetti lying at the bottom of a fountain and observed through the rippled surface of the water. The optical distortions generated by the water transform the subject into an unstable visual composition that opens up a restrained narrative\, poised between a moment of childlike innocence and a suspension of perception. For Karel Štědrý\, art is a fun game\, infinite variations on what already exists\, in which new possibilities open up\, with humor and incessant curiosity. In the case of works inspired by the Czech game invented in the 1920s\, the Merkur Kit\, he is interested\, in addition to aesthetics\, in how each of the pieces can be a separate object and how thought can be shifted from the world of play to the world of art. \nThe exhibition is organized by Crag Gallery in collaboration with the Czech Center in Milan and the Consulate General of the Czech Republic in Milan\, as part of the TAG Torino Art Galleries initiatives. \nExhibition opening Tuesday\, October 28\, 6-8 p.m. \nSpecial openings during Art Week Torino:\nNight of the Arts on Saturday\, November 1\, from 6 to 11 p.m.\nBreakfast in the gallery on Friday\, October 31\, Saturday\, November 1\, and Sunday\, November 2\, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.\nDuration: November 1–23 by appointment\nLocation: Home di Crag Gallery\, Via Maria Vittoria 45\, Turin \n\nDOMA 2025   \nMostra collettiva \nDal 28 ottobre al 23 novembre 2025 \nCRAG HOME GALLERY – Via Maria Vittoria 45 – Torino \ncurata da Karin Reisova \nPer il secondo anno Crag Gallery propone durante la settimana dell’Art Week torinese\, in concomitanza ad Artissima\, la mostra DOMA nella Home Gallery di via Maria Vittoria in pieno centro della città. \nIn questa edizione esporranno le loro opere artisti italiani e artisti della Repubblica Ceca a consolidare un ponte culturale che caratterizza il lavoro di Crag da sempre. \nIl tema di quest’anno è IL GIOCO/THE GAME e gli artisti scelti lo interpretano secondo diversi punti di vista.  Il gioco ha un’importanza fondamentale nella nostra società perché indica un’attività libera e spontanea\, essenziale per lo sviluppo intellettuale dei bambini e importante per gli adulti perché rappresenta un momento di evasione dalle responsabilità quotidiane. Già nel 1926\, il filosofo Jurgen Moltmann riteneva che il gioco assumesse una funzione sospensiva dalla normale attività e distensiva dalle tensioni quotidiane. L’arte e il gioco si intrecciano nella vita\, dal gioco nell’amore\, ai videogiochi\, alla raffigurazione di momenti della fanciullezza. \nCon preziosi intarsi in cristalli di Boemia\, Radoslav Bigos per la prima volta espone in Italia e interviene su pitture raffiguranti il nudo maschile svelato in intriganti carte da gioco. \nJiri Hauschka nel suo lavoro in bilico tra pittura astratta e realismo inserisce storie personali di giochi immersi nella natura della Bohemian Forest. \nIl richiamo al senso di appartenenza è la base di una ricerca che mette in discussione la fragilità ideologica del contemporaneo e spesso il richiamo allo schieramento assume i tratti della tifoseria da stadio e la bandiera\, tema caro a Giacomo Modolo\, diventa oggetto del gioco tra parti\, nella continua e ossessiva ricerca di un’identità\, quello di una nuova bandiera di una nazione che non esiste\, una nazione ideale\, una bandiera per immaginare un mondo migliore. L’opera è realizzata a due mani in collaborazione con il graphic designer Nicolò Gemieri. \nMattia Noal\, artista italiano di base a Francoforte\, espone un sandbox con il giocatore\, l’oggetto e il paesaggio da raggiungere che è caratterizzato da dei landmarks\, i marcatori\, come nei livelli di un videogioco. Il suo lavoro è combinazione tra una pittura raffinata e le parti di un videogioco\, il tutto calato in un’atmosfera nordica. \nPaolo Pibi riprende un teatrino delle marionette di fine Ottocento\, un gioco sicuramente non più in voga ma che è comunque presente nella nostra memoria collettiva e il titolo del suo dipinto è Piccoli Brividi\, una collana di libri celebre per la sua generazione. \nAnche Ondřej Roubik affronta con la pittura il tema della realtà virtuale: le sue opere sono racconti nei quali i soggetti giocano in una dimensione reale e onnipresente\, sono isolati e non si rendono conto che il mondo della realtà virtuale li influenza e ne rallenta il comportamento intuitivo. \nNella serie di fotografie “Coriandoli”\, Enrico Smerilli si concentra sull’immagine di coriandoli posati sul fondo di una fontana e osservati attraverso la superficie increspata dell’acqua. Le distorsioni ottiche generate dall’acqua trasformano il soggetto in una composizione visiva instabile che apre una narrazione trattenuta\, in bilico tra un momento di innocenza infantile e una sospensione percettiva. \nPer Karel Štědrý\, l’arte è un gioco divertente\, infinite variazioni su ciò che già esiste\, in cui si aprono nuove possibilità\, con umorismo e incessante curiosità.
