SUMMARY:Between the lines - Alessandro Cardinale
DESCRIPTION:Between the lines – Alessandro Cardinale \nTra le righe \n21 October – 27 November 2016 \nopening on 21/ 22/ 23 October from 11-22  \n  \nAlessandro Cardinale is an artist able to combine skills to artistic genius. \nTaking a closer look at his production of the last ten years it’s not hard to appreciate the originality\, the exquisite technique and the aesthetic taste characterising this latest series of works\, titled NU SHU. \nThe works presented in a solo exhibition at Chiono Reisovà Art Gallery are merely a recent fraction of a much wider work that the artist has been developing over the past three years\, first shown at the Biennial Italy/China of Turin and of Beijing\, a city\, the latter\, cherished by the artist after winning in 2012 the 5th Edition of the International Biennial. \nThe NU SHU series takes inspiration from a secret language born in the Hunan in China. With 1.500 characters\, through particular embroideries on cloths and fans\, women could communicate to each other through a symbolism represented mainly with verses\, then rediscovered and studied during the Fifties\, but soon forbidden by the communist party. Today\, even though it is taught in some schools in Hunan\, there are only three women left able to read it\, write it and speak it and the danger is that it could completely disappear. \n“Not knowing men’s alphabet they created an original writing system to pass on the songs of their childhood\, to confide to their friends their most intimate thoughts and pains. They were helped by the existence of a special solidarity among women: in this region\, in fact\, the ancient tradition of the Jiebai Zimei existed\, the “sisterhood oath”\, that since the adolescence was able to create bonds stronger that those of blood. […] Another rare aspect of Nu Shu writing is that it is almost completed expressed in verses\, as its oral origin were the songs of women working together at home spinning\, sewing cloths\, making shoes” (from “The language of women” by Federico Rampini”). \nFocusing back again on the artist’s work\, apart from his affection for China and its culture\, the installations are a clear reference to this secret language: the material recalls the fans and cloths where Nu Shu was written\, while the optical illusions and the industriousness of the work reinterpret the complexity and the mystery that characterised it for centuries. \nI’ve been following Alessandro Cardinale’s work for years waiting for the right time to finally present it to our public. \nThis solo exhibition at Chiono Reisovà Art Gallery is the perfect opportunity to present it to new collectors and art aficionados\, I’m sure that many will share my enthusiasm. \nElisabetta Chiono \n  \nMostra aperta ogni giorno su appuntamento \n

SUMMARY:Diego Zangirolami - Studio Labdia
DESCRIPTION:DIEGO ZANGIROLAMI\nThe process – The hidden life of things and people\n24 November – 12 December 2016       curated by Sergio Manca and Elisabetta Chiono\n  \nStudio LABDIA of Architecture in Turin will host the exhibition of Diego Zangirolami – The process – The hidden life of people and things – from the 24th November to the 12th of December in their new venue in collaboration with CRAG. \n  \nThe artist works in a different temporal dimension than the current moment\, as his actions are based on a collective memory where the whole history of art (and not only a specific story) participates to his culture\, his way of being\, thus making his proposition active and connected to other needs.\n(Flash Art n. 326 march-april 2016\, extract from the interview to Enrico Castellani\, 1986)\nI was reading the interview to Enrico Castellani while I was on the train and I immediately thought about the work of Diego Zangirolami\, the young artist from Turin that we chose for the first solo show of Chiono Reisovà Art Gallery.\nThe collective memory told in the artworks on exhibition is jointly made of literature\, architecture\, mythology and history\, wisely combined with the experience\, passions and everyday life of the artist.\nThe series Il processo\, already partly exhibited in Cile in the solo show of 2014\, is widened and deepened today examining even more the Kafka’s universe that is the base of Diego’s work.\nPrecious miniatures enclose small worlds\, linked to each other\, where characters either real or made up live in extemporal contexts.\nThe creative mind of the artist\, anachronistic at a first glance\, contains a different temporality that is developed in a totally personal way for the choices both in the composition and the contents. Prof. Bruno Orlandoni\, who has been following Diego’s work since the beginning\, identifies four clear parameters to describe him as artist (pag. …)\nSince the beginning we have seen in his work a quid pluris\, a courage to be far beyond the fashion of the moment\, that are the founding elements in the path of the Gallery and\, as a consequence\, of the selection of both the artists and curators. We chose Sergio Manca as co-curator for the sensibility that put him closer to the artist\, sharing his thought and understanding what lies underneath his work.\nThe exhibition becomes an opportunity to go beyond. The artist shares with us his meticulous work that CRAG nourishes and opens to the public.\nWe invite you\, then\, to enjoy the hidden life of things and people.\n                                                                     Elisabetta Chiono \n\n \nImpresa Edile Serve Fratelli s.n.c. was founded in the 1956 and has been operating for over 50 years in the residential and industrial construction field. It now is comprised of two integrated companies: labdia laboratorio di architettura\, for design and construction supervision\, and gest.com\, for the management of the entire construction process\, with direct involvement in each project phase. \nThanks to this structure\, our research and design activities\, which combine the ideas of professionals with technical construction opportunities and financial planning\, are developed and implemented with the coordination and control of the development process\, as well as the marketing\, thus ensuring a constant vision overall and consistency of the quality of the work. Such organisational abilities make servettimpresa a strong reference point in the contemporary construction field\, especially for the customers and clients that make quality their overriding goal at all stages and in every detail. \nFor more information and for visiting the exhibition please write to info@cragallery.com
